RIP Catholic Eye Candy

February 23, 2018

Attention. I am momentarily resurrecting this blog to notify you that this blog is dead.

This was a very fun and rewarding project which started almost 10 years ago. However as many people know I am now an apostate, and a proud enemy to the Church. I will keep this site up as a credit to the work I put into it, but I in no way whatsoever endorse its message.

Feel free to enjoy my current work at my new page:

Is it just me or are photos of the event hard to come by?

Many MANY thanks to Peggy S. for the photos from her attendance.

Vestments of St. Pio of Pietrelcina

March 15, 2010

From Orbis Catholicus:

You can see some of these vestments in action here!:

— St. Pio of Pietrelcina

Papal Tiaras, Finally:

January 21, 2010

We had to mention them at some point didn’t we? And I am in a good mood, so for your approval,

Papal Tiara

Madness!

And Im obligated to show you this hideous piece which lies in state in the crypt of the National Shrine.

I doubt we’ll ever see one in use again. I’m sorry to say it. If any future popes out there are reading this, don’t be afraid to try one on. It’s your right.

The Camauro

December 25, 2009

Much like Ebenezer Scrooge, CEC works on Christmas Eve! Well actually this is an automated post because I am most likely sleeping in today. A Merry Christmas to you all! Now, on to today’s germane post:

The camauro, in use by the popes since the 12th century, and revived from recent disuse by Pope Benedict XVI.
