Firmum Est Cor Meum: The Pontifical North American College

Established on December 8, 1859, the Pontifical North American College has ever since kept a tradition of excellence in priestly formation for American seminarians in Rome.

The “Casa Santa Maria”, located right next to Trevi Fountain, this was the original home of the seminary:

The Chapel. This is actually where the American seminarians were ordained.

In the 19th century, the only way to Rome from the US was by ship. These guys wouldn’t come home for breaks or anything for years:
