As the whole world now knows, the Holy Father has now finished his third encyclical letter, which was published this past Tuesday. I have always trusted that this pope, more than any recent pope, has always spoken the messages that the world needed most, but hated to hear. You can find the text of the encyclical here.
One of the most brilliant minds alive today:
“Without truth, charity degenerates into sentimentality. Love becomes an empty shell, to be filled in an arbitrary way. In a culture without truth, this is the fatal risk facing love. It falls prey to contingent subjective emotions and opinions, the word “love” is abused and distorted, to the point where it comes to mean the opposite.”
–Benedict XVI, Caritas in Veritate
